Project: 'The Unknown Becomes Known'

Join Annapurna Indian Dance for a community afternoon celebrating International Women’s Day which will also mark the launch of our latest project The Unknown Becomes Known supported by Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF). Join us for a presentation of colourful and captivating Indian dance performed by professional dancers and children the company have worked with recently and an exhibition of artwork “Forgotten Soldiers” from visual artist /musician Ramya Tangirala. There will also be a short presentation by Artistic Director Shantha Rao introducing the project. The Unknown Becomes Known commemorates India’s contribution during the First World War and aims to reveal the untold story of the many soldiers who were part of the war effort. Annapurna will increase public awareness through high Yorkshire to educate young people about this sensitive topic.
