The quartet of dancers featuring Kali Chandrasegaram, Elena Odissi, Maryam Shakiba and Mahina Khanum, bring to life the devotional aspects of odissi, the classical dance of East India, with sculptural form and sensuous grace.
The stories of the gods are metaphors for humans with their everyday struggles and occasional triumphs. The freshness of the Ensemble's presentation keeps the classical form updated for the 21st century.
